The time-lost Legion of Super Heroes enlist Impulse's help to use the Cosmic Treadmill. The device, with a speeder running on it, is capable of time travel manipulation. After a few jumps in time, the Treadmill is seemingly destroyed. The Legion leave dejected. There is a flash of light; it turns out Impulse had sent the Treadmill itself a little bit into the future. Nobody realizes this.
